The paintings are accompanied by offscreen narration and voice-only portrayals of Lincoln and other Civil War historical figures such as Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee. Strangely, Abraham Lincoln does not feature the voice of a single actor as Lincoln — several distinctly different voices read passages from Lincoln’s speeches and letters.

Though the historical content and pacing of its script is rather pedestrian, Abraham Lincoln’s novel visuals make it slightly more interesting than many other similar educational screen works.
